CONSERVATION TIPS
These tips are ways to help with conserving water.
Take short showers instead of baths. A full bathtub requires about 36 gallons of water.
Run your dishwater and washing machine only when they are full.
Never put water down the drain when there may be another use of it such as watering a plant or garden, or cleaning. Also, collecting rain water to water plants is a good way to conserve.
Don't leave the water running when brushing your teeth or shaving. Get in the habit of turning off the water when it's not being used.
Limit using a pressure washer.
Clean driveways, sidewalks, and patios with a broom instead of a hose.
Washing your car at a car wash uses about 10 times less water than washing your car at home.
Choose a shower over a bath and install a low-flow shower head for your 5 minute shower.
Cook food in as little water as possible, this also helps retain more of the nutrients.
Find and repair water leaks.
Evaluate your monthly water consumption.
